Meet Jordyn, a Speech-Language Pathologist with the McKibben & Monte team in Detroit who brings heart, connection, and joy to every therapy session. Jordyn earned both her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Eastern Michigan University, where she built a strong foundation in evidence-based, client-centered care.

Jordyn’s favorite part of being a speech therapist is the meaningful connections she forms with her clients and their families. She loves getting to know each child, celebrating their progress, and walking alongside families as they work toward important goals. Every client she serves holds a special place in her heart, and she is deeply grateful for the trust families place in her. Jordyn considers it a true privilege to do what she loves each day and to witness the powerful role communication plays in people’s lives.

She was inspired to pursue speech therapy after recognizing how central communication is to every aspect of daily life—and how often it is taken for granted until it becomes difficult or is lost. That realization sparked her desire to help others find their voice and feel confident expressing themselves. Jordyn finds nothing more rewarding than seeing someone connect with others, share their thoughts, and truly be heard.

When Jordyn first begins working with a child, her priority is building rapport, often through play-based therapy. She believes play naturally creates countless opportunities for learning and growth while helping children feel comfortable, engaged, and excited to participate.

Jordyn’s favorite children’s book is Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! by Mo Willems, and as a child she loved reading Mortimer by Robert Munsch—often sharing it with her cousin and sister during sleepovers. Outside of work, Jordyn enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, and getting lost in a good book. With her warmth, empathy, and playful approach, Jordyn makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families she serves.
