Jeanine Achtel, M.S., CCC-SLP, CLC, is a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, McKibben & Monte team who specializes in helping children build the communication and feeding skills they need to participate more confidently in everyday life. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Marquette University and brings expertise in apraxia, articulation and phonology, early language development, receptive and expressive language, cognitive communication, and feeding.
Jeanine’s favorite part of being a therapist is helping children reach meaningful communication and feeding milestones while working closely with their families. She understands how deeply these skills can affect a child’s ability to express themselves, connect with others, participate in daily routines, and develop greater independence. Celebrating that progress alongside children and their families is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.
When beginning therapy with a child, Jeanine takes a child-centered, play-based approach. She follows each child’s interests and builds upon their individual strengths, creating therapy experiences that feel engaging and motivating while supporting meaningful opportunities for growth. By meeting children where they are and incorporating what naturally captures their attention, she helps create an environment where they can feel comfortable, successful, and excited to participate.
Jeanine also values the important role families play in a child’s development. She works collaboratively with parents and caregivers to help children carry emerging communication and feeding skills into their everyday routines, making therapy relevant not only during a session but also in the moments that matter most at home, at school, and in the community.
