Jacquelyn Tabony, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist with the McKibben & Monte team in Jacksonville. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders from the University of Central Florida and specializes in literacy, helping children build the foundational language and reading skills that support lifelong learning.
Jackie’s favorite part of being a therapist is witnessing progress unfold—whether it’s hearing encouraging feedback from parents and caregivers or seeing how far a child has come from their first visit to dismissal. She finds it incredibly rewarding to be part of that growth and to know the skills developed in therapy are carrying over into everyday life.
Her journey into speech-language pathology began while shadowing several of her mom’s colleagues during her mom’s career as a critical care nurse. While she always knew she wanted to help others, it was watching an outpatient pediatric speech therapist work with a toddler that truly sealed the deal. In that moment, she found the perfect blend of science, connection, and impact.
When beginning with a new child, Jackie prioritizes building rapport and creating a foundation of trust. She takes time to learn what a child loves—and what they don’t—so therapy feels engaging and meaningful. Open communication with caregivers and teachers is central to her approach, ensuring that goals are supported across settings and that everyone feels part of the process.
Her favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, and as a child she loved Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman. Outside of work, Jackie enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, entertaining, and hiking local trails with friends. She may also hold an unofficial record for the number of Dave Matthews Band concerts she has attended! With her warmth, enthusiasm, and dedication to literacy and communication, Jackie brings both heart and expertise to every child she serves.
