Meet Hilary, a compassionate Occupational Therapist on the McKibben & Monte team in Columbus. Hilary earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University and her Bachelor of Science in Biology/Psychology from Capital University. She specializes in child development, motor coordination, and sensory processing, bringing a well-rounded perspective and deep expertise to her practice.

Hilary’s favorite part of being an occupational therapist is getting to know each child, discovering their unique strengths and personality, and helping them succeed. She finds joy in seeing growth toward goals and values collaboration with families and teachers—because, as she says, teamwork is always key. Hilary has led sensory processing and handwriting groups for school-aged students and has years of one-on-one experience supporting children with fine motor and developmental skills, sensory processing challenges, orthopedic treatments including splinting, motor coordination, body awareness, and early self-help skills.

Her passion for occupational therapy was born from her love of working with children and her combined interest in medicine and teaching. OT allowed her to bring all these interests together into one fulfilling career. When beginning therapy with a new child, Hilary prioritizes building rapport and learning about their interests, weaving those into sessions to keep therapy motivating and engaging.

Hilary’s favorite children’s books are The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt and Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. As a child, she loved The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams Bianco. Outside of work, Hilary enjoys spending time with her family—taking short trips, exploring nature, baking with her kids, and enjoying creative crafts and family game nights.

With her thoughtful approach and genuine care for children and families, Hilary is a valued member of the McKibben & Monte team.
