Meet Heidi, a devoted Speech-Language Pathologist with the McKibben & Monte team in Columbus. Holding a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from The Pennsylvania State University, Heidi specializes in early childhood speech and language development.
Heidi’s favorite part of her work is watching children gain the confidence and joy that come from achieving their communication goals. She finds inspiration in her family of educators, her passion for serving others, and her love of science and creativity—elements she combines to personalize her approach for each child she works with. No two children are the same, and Heidi thrives on discovering the unique methods and strategies that help them succeed.
When getting to know a child, Heidi focuses on building a meaningful connection in a comfortable, welcoming environment. This foundation of trust encourages kids to open up, learn, and grow. Her favorite children’s books include the Curious George series by Margret and H.A. Rey, as well as Mortimer’s Christmas Manger by Karma Wilson—stories that spark curiosity and warmth.
Outside of work, Heidi loves supporting her own children at their sporting events, spending time outdoors exploring nature, hiking scenic trails, and kayaking. Her dedication to building confidence, forging relationships, and celebrating each child’s unique journey makes Heidi a cherished member of the McKibben & Monte team.
