Meet Elaine, an Occupational Therapist with the McKibben & Monte team in Columbus. Elaine earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lewis University and her Master of Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University. She specializes in pediatric school-based therapy, early intervention, and trauma-informed care, bringing both professional expertise and personal experience to her work with children and families.

Elaine’s favorite parts about being a therapist are making therapy fun and meaningful, collaborating closely with families, and working in a variety of settings that allow her to meet children where they are. Her passion for helping others reach their full potential became deeply personal when her twin sons were born prematurely, each weighing under two pounds. Drawing on her OT background in their care and development, she experienced firsthand the power of early intervention and the transformative impact of therapy on children and families.

When starting therapy with a child, Elaine’s approach is to create sessions so fun and engaging that children don’t even realize they’re working on important skills. She believes this playful, strength-based method not only makes therapy enjoyable but also fosters lasting progress.

Elaine is most proud of using her knowledge and professional experience to support medically fragile infants, guiding them—and their families—toward growth and resilience.

Outside of her work, Elaine loves spending time with family and friends, being in nature, listening to music, and visiting the beach. With her compassionate approach, creative spirit, and dedication to children’s growth, Elaine is a valued member of the McKibben & Monte team.
