Amy Federer, M.A., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Meet Amy, a seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist with the McKibben & Monte team in Columbus. Amy earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa. With more than 22 years of experience, she continues to grow and evolve in her practice, bringing both expertise and heart to every child she serves.

Amy’s favorite part of being a therapist is the collaboration—working closely with teachers, parents, and children to build communication skills that empower kids to express themselves with confidence. She was first inspired to pursue the field by her love of working with children and her desire to support those with communication needs, a passion further influenced by her mother’s own hearing loss.

Her approach to therapy is centered on partnership and empowerment, ensuring that each child’s unique needs are met with creativity, patience, and skill. For Amy, nothing is more rewarding than helping children discover their voice and watching them flourish in both academic and social settings.

Amy’s love of children’s literature shines through in her work and family life. One of her favorite books to read with her daughter is The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson, and they both enjoy the Pete the Cat series by Eric Litwin. As a child herself, she loved the timeless stories written by Judy Blume.

Outside of work, Amy finds happiness with her family. They enjoy traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing the world together—especially through the eyes of her own children. With her decades of experience, collaborative spirit, and passion for helping others, Amy is a trusted and valued member of the McKibben & Monte team.
