Meet Alicia, a Speech-Language Pathologist with the McKibben & Monte team in Cleveland. Alicia earned her Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from Kent State University and her Bachelor of Arts and Science, with a minor in Psychology, from Ohio University. She specializes in speech disorders/apraxia and expressive-receptive language development, helping children gain the communication skills they need to thrive both academically and socially.
Alicia’s favorite part of being a therapist is the meaningful connections she forms with children and their families. She finds joy in coaching parents on language skills, celebrating progress, and seeing how clearer communication can transform a child’s confidence and quality of life. Inspired by her passion for helping others, Alicia chose speech therapy because it allows her to blend compassion, creativity, and science to meet each child’s unique needs.
Her approach to therapy begins with building trust and making a strong first impression. By learning about a child’s interests and preferences, she creates a comfortable, play-based environment where they feel engaged and motivated to grow.
Alicia’s favorite children’s book is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff, and as a child she loved Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown. Outside of work, Alicia loves spending time with her three boys—whether watching a game, playing together, or enjoying family adventures. She also enjoys trail walks with friends, visiting nearby family, traveling, and exploring new places.
With her expertise, warmth, and dedication, Alicia brings energy and heart to every child she works with at McKibben & Monte.
