Speech Language Pathologist

Meet Abbi, a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist on the McKibben & Monte team in Cleveland. With a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders from Bowling Green State University, Abbi specializes in early intervention and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Abbi’s favorite part of her work is helping children grow through play. She loves making sessions both fun and meaningful, celebrating every milestone and taking pride in the progress each child makes. Her interest in speech therapy began in college, where she found herself captivated by how children learn language during their earliest years. She knew she’d found her calling in a field that allows her to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

When Abbi first begins working with a child, she takes time to discover their interests and preferred ways of learning. By tailoring sessions to each child’s unique strengths and joys, she fosters a positive, encouraging environment that inspires confidence and skill-building. Abbi’s favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, reflecting her appreciation for stories that spark imagination and curiosity. As a child, she cherished Go, Dog, Go! because it was the first book she read independently—an early sign of her lifelong love for language.

Outside of work, Abbi is happiest spending time with her fiancé and their dog, and you might find her cheering on the Guardians at the ballpark. With her warm, enthusiastic approach, Abbi is dedicated to guiding every child toward their fullest communication potential.
