Meet Tina, a dedicated Occupational Therapist and professor, serving the McKibben & Monte team in Tampa. With a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Springfield College, Tina specializes in sensory integration (SI), Autism, reflex integration, and general child development.
Tina’s favorite part of her role is watching children and families learn, grow, and achieve their goals—plus, she loves that her job allows her to play with kids all day! Her passion for working with children with special needs began when she volunteered with the Special Olympics in high school. This experience inspired her to pursue a career in occupational therapy. Early in her career, she was further motivated by seasoned therapists who introduced her to the world of sensory integration and reflexes.
Tina’s approach to therapy is rooted in building trust and establishing a relationship through play. She focuses on finding each child’s favorite game, toy, or activity and actively engaging in their world, making therapy both fun and effective.
Outside of work, Tina loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys boating, swimming, attending concerts, traveling, and reading. Some of her favorite children’s books include Blueberries for Sal and Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, as well as Ferdinand the Bull by Wilbur Monroe Leaf. Tina’s joy for life, combined with her commitment to helping children and families, makes her an invaluable part of the McKibben & Monte team.
