Growing up, Mackenzie babysit for an autistic neighbor boy. Being a caregiver for him inspired her and allowed her to learn about the therapies he was involved in that helped him communicate and be engaged in the world.
It’s the role therapists get to play in helping others communicate their wants and needs and make connections with others that Mackenzie appreciates the most about her what she does.
When she is not working, Mackenzie loves to spend time with her husband and two children hiking, playing games, or doing anything outside.
