Meet Abby, a passionate Occupational Therapist on the McKibben & Monte team in Cincinnati. With a Master of Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Occupation Studies, both from Xavier University, Abby brings a wealth of expertise and heart to her work with children and their families.
Abby’s favorite part of being a therapist is the personal relationships she builds with each child. She loves how occupational therapy can be tailored to meet the unique needs of every child, helping them pave the way to a brighter future. Abby was inspired to pursue her career after shadowing a pediatric occupational therapist in high school. The diverse range of conditions and treatment options she observed sparked her passion, and she now appreciates the many opportunities the therapy world has to offer.
When working with children, Abby ensures they feel heard and involved, incorporating their input into the plan of care. She believes therapy should be fun and engaging, not a chore. Her goal is to create sessions that kids are excited to talk about with their families at home, making each session a meaningful and enjoyable experience.
In her downtime, Abby loves soaking up the sunshine, playing sand volleyball, and taking vacations. Her favorite children’s book is Have You Filled a Bucket Today by Carol McCloud, and as a child, she was a fan of Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. With her dedication to making therapy a fun and personalized experience, Abby is committed to helping each child thrive in their own unique way.
