Accessing Therapy Services Through Florida’s Step Up for Students Program

At McKibben & Monte, we are proud to offer comprehensive services through Florida’s Step Up For Students program, empowering families to provide their children with personalized educational and therapeutic support. This state-approved program enables families to access speech therapy, occupational therapy, dietary consultation, tutoring, and more, all aimed at helping children thrive in their learning environment.

What Does Step Up for Students Cover?

Through the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA), families can access services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, dietary consultations, private school tuition, and more. This program supports students with a wide range of needs, providing a pathway to customized care and educational opportunities.

Who is Eligible?

Step Up for Students is available to children from age 3 through grade 12 who have a specific diagnosis, including speech impairments, Autism spectrum disorder, and more. The scholarship ensures that children with unique needs have access to tailored therapeutic services that support their development.

Getting Started with Step Up for Students Scholarship

  1. Visit stepupforstudents.org to begin the application process.
  2. Provide proof of your child’s age, diagnosis, and residency.
  3. Funds are deposited into your child’s Education Management Account (EMA) on a quarterly basis.
  4. You can order services directly through your EMA account or through MyScholarShop, with payments made directly to service providers.

About the Step Up for Students Program

Step Up for Students is a Florida-based, state-approved nonprofit scholarship funding organization that helps families across the state access scholarships to customize their children’s education and therapy. Scholarships include:

  • Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA): Allows families to direct funds to services like therapy and private school tuition.
  • Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) & Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO): Helps K-12 students attend private schools.
  • Personalized Education Program (PEP): Provides support for students not enrolled full-time in public or private schools.
  • New Worlds Scholarship Accounts: Offers additional reading and math support for K-5 public school students.
  • Transportation Stipend: Assists K-8 students with transportation to a public school of choice.
