Meet Domenica, a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist on the McKibben & Monte team in Tampa. Domenica earned her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Eastern Michigan University and her Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Western Michigan University. She specializes in supporting children with stuttering and childhood apraxia of speech, helping them build the confidence and skills they need to communicate effectively.
Domenica’s favorite part of being a therapist is knowing she is making a true difference in the lives of others. She was first inspired to pursue speech therapy during a high school health occupations course, where shadowing a variety of professionals introduced her to the field. The opportunity to combine her passion for helping people with meaningful, hands-on work quickly confirmed speech therapy as the perfect career for her.
Her approach to therapy begins with creating a safe, welcoming space where children feel comfortable and supported. Domenica focuses on building rapport first, then uses play-based, child-led strategies to encourage growth. By tapping into each child’s personal interests, she sparks communication in natural and motivating ways that foster lasting progress.
Domenica’s favorite children’s books are those written by Dr. Seuss, and as a child, she loved Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys cooking and baking new recipes, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the outdoors. When she visits her home state of Michigan, you’ll often find her near the lake or spending time outside with loved ones.
With her expertise, warmth, and genuine commitment to helping children find their voice, Domenica is a valued member of the McKibben & Monte team.
