Meet Sarah, a dedicated Occupational Therapist with the McKibben & Monte team in Columbus. With a Master of Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Miami University, Sarah specializes in helping children develop functional fine motor skills, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Sarah’s favorite part of her role is witnessing children accomplish things they never thought possible. She loves working with the pediatric population because they are full of fun and surprises, making every day an exciting adventure. Inspired by her mother, a retired nurse, Sarah knew early on that she wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to serve others and make a meaningful impact.
Sarah’s approach to therapy is grounded in building strong relationships through play. She believes that establishing a positive connection with each child is key to increasing their engagement and success in therapy. By creating a supportive, playful environment, Sarah helps children feel comfortable and confident as they work toward their goals.
In her free time, Sarah loves being outdoors with family and friends, whether she’s running, exercising, or simply enjoying nature. Her favorite children’s book is Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann, and as a child, she was a fan of The Babysitter’s Club, Little Sister series by Ann M. Martin. Motivated by the motto, “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff,” Sarah brings a calm, focused, and joyful energy to every therapy session.
