Heidi was inspired to pursue speech pathology while taking an Intro to Hearing
and Speech Sciences class at OU. She loved everything about the field, even
before she knew what a speech therapist career entailed.
After working in nursing homes, hospitals, and a juvenile correctional facility in her 20+ year career, Heidi finds her most rewarding work helping young children develop and improve their communication skills for a successful future. Her primary approach to therapy is to begin with fun, play-based activities to build trust and rapport with her students. She then strives to make therapy fun while working on their goals so therapy is a positive experience and the child looks forward to their weekly sessions. Heidi specializes in Articulation and Language Disorders.
Heidi balances work with a family and vacation time in Northern Michigan. She also loves going to the beach or out for ice cream with her family, gardening, organizing, and listening to True Crime podcasts.
We’re grateful she veered from her original dream of being a Rockette!
